Frequently Asked Questions
Which file formats are supported?
Word .docx (up to 10 MB), Excel .xlsx (up to 10 MB), PowerPoint .pptx (up to 25 MB), PDF (up to 25 MB), SubRip .srt and WebVTT .vtt subtitles (up to 5 MB), Markdown .md (up to 5 MB), and plain text .txt (up to 5 MB). Legacy .doc files are not supported - save your .doc as .docx in Word first.
Will my formatting be preserved?
For .docx, .xlsx and .pptx: fonts, images, tables, charts, headers, footers, slide layouts and styling are kept exactly as in the original - we only swap the visible text. For .pdf: original images, vector graphics and layout are preserved; translated text is drawn over the original. For .srt and .vtt: timecodes and cue settings stay exact, line breaks within a cue are kept. For .md and .txt: encoding (UTF-8, UTF-16, Windows-1252...) and line endings are preserved.
How much does it cost?
Free plan includes one document translation of up to 5,000 characters across any supported format. Pro plan ($7.99/month) covers 700,000 characters per month and no per-document size limit. Team plan adds per-seat budgets for organisations.
Which languages are supported?
Over 100 languages for .docx, .xlsx, .pptx, .srt, .vtt, .md and .txt - including English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Russian, Ukrainian, Polish, Dutch, Turkish, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Arabic, Hindi. PDF translation in V1 supports Latin, Cyrillic and Greek scripts; for CJK, Arabic or Hebrew targets, use a .docx file. Source language can be auto-detected.
Are my documents stored on your servers?
No. Documents are processed in memory and discarded as soon as the translated file is returned. Nothing is saved to disk or to your translation history.
